This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect when you use our website, request one of our free guides or choose to subscribe to our emails, how we use that data, who we share it with, and the rights and choices available to you.

This policy applies to visitors wherever they live, including the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom and the United States.

You can contact us at the email address above with any questions about this Privacy Policy or about your personal data.

2. Information we collect

Information you provide

When you fill in a form to receive a free guide, we collect your first name, last name and email address.

If you separately choose to receive educational and marketing emails from Skin Active Lab, we also record your marketing consent.

Requesting a guide and agreeing to receive ongoing marketing emails are separate choices. You can receive the guide you requested without agreeing to receive future marketing emails.

Information collected when you submit a form

When you submit a guide request, our system may record information associated with that request, including:

  • the guide you requested
  • the channel or source you arrived from
  • the referring URL
  • campaign or UTM parameters contained in the link
  • your IP address

the date and time of the request.

We use this information to deliver the requested guide, understand how people find our content, maintain records of requests and consent, and protect our forms and website against spam and automated abuse.

Email engagement information

If you have agreed to receive emails from us, our email platform may record information about your interaction with those emails, such as whether an email was opened and whether links in it were clicked.

We do not ask for, and do not want, sensitive personal data such as health or medical information. Please do not send us medical details about yourself or anyone else.

3. How we use your information

We use personal information for the following purposes:

  • to send you the free guide you requested
  • to record which guide you requested and deliver the correct content
  • to send you educational emails, updates and occasional offers about skincare, ingredients and formulation only if you have separately agreed to receive them
  • to maintain records of requests, subscriptions and marketing consent
  • to protect our forms and website against spam, duplicate submissions and automated abuse

to understand, in aggregate, which guides and acquisition channels are useful so that we can improve our content.

We do not sell your personal information.

We do not provide your name or email address to third parties for their own marketing purposes.

4. Legal basis for processing for EEA and UK visitors

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we process personal data only where we have an appropriate legal basis.

Providing a requested guide. We process the information necessary to respond to your request and deliver the guide you asked us to send you.

Marketing consent. We send ongoing educational and marketing emails only where you have separately agreed to receive them. You may withdraw that consent at any time by using the unsubscribe link in our emails or contacting us.

Legitimate interests. We may process limited information where necessary for our legitimate interests in operating and securing our website and forms, preventing abuse, maintaining appropriate records and understanding, in aggregate, how our content performs, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights and interests.

Withdrawing marketing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal and does not affect your ability to receive a guide you have already requested.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

The Skin Active Lab pages are configured not to load advertising or third-party tracking technologies such as Google Ads, Google Tag Manager or Google Analytics.

The Skin Active Lab pages also use locally hosted fonts rather than loading fonts from Google Fonts.

At the time this Privacy Policy was last updated, the Skin Active Lab pages were configured so that they do not set advertising or analytics cookies when you visit them.

If we introduce analytics, advertising technologies or other non-essential cookies in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy and, where required, provide appropriate choices or consent controls before those technologies are used.

6. Service providers

We use a limited number of service providers to operate Skin Active Lab and deliver our content.

  • Flashy (Israel) — our email platform. Flashy is used to manage email contacts and to deliver our emails. Records of guide requests and of marketing consent are kept in our own website system, not in Flashy.

uPress (Israel) — our website hosting provider. Our website and records associated with guide requests are hosted on its infrastructure.

  • Gumroad (United States) — the platform through which we sell and deliver paid digital products. If you make a purchase through Gumroad, information relating to that transaction is also processed by Gumroad in accordance with its own privacy practices.

Our service providers may process personal data where necessary to provide their services to us. We do not permit them to use your name or email address for their own marketing purposes merely because you requested a Skin Active Lab guide.

7. International transfers

Our website and primary guide-request records are hosted in Israel.

The European Commission has recognised Israel as providing an adequate level of protection for personal data, allowing personal data to be transferred from the EEA to Israel on that basis.

Some service providers we use may process information in the United States or other countries. Where data-protection law requires safeguards for an international transfer, the transfer will rely on an applicable recognised mechanism used by the relevant provider, such as an adequacy framework, Standard Contractual Clauses or another legally recognised safeguard.

You may contact us if you would like more information about the safeguards relevant to a particular provider.

8. How long we keep your data

We retain personal data for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected and to maintain appropriate records of guide requests, consent, withdrawal of consent and communications preferences.

If you unsubscribe from marketing emails, we stop sending you marketing communications. Unsubscribing from marketing does not necessarily delete all information associated with your previous guide requests or your contact record.

We may retain limited information where necessary to record that you unsubscribed, respect your communication preferences, maintain consent records, prevent accidental re-subscription or meet applicable legal obligations.

If you ask us to delete your personal data, we will process that request in accordance with applicable law, subject to any information we are legally permitted or required to retain.

9. Your rights

If you are in the EEA or the United Kingdom

Depending on the circumstances, you may have the right to:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
  • Erasure — ask us to delete your personal data.
  • Restriction — ask us to restrict how we process your personal data.
  • Object — object to certain processing based on legitimate interests.
  • Data portability — receive certain personal data in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format.
  • Withdraw consent — withdraw your consent to marketing at any time.
  • Complain — lodge a complaint with the relevant data-protection authority.

If you are in the United States

Privacy rights vary by state and may depend on whether a particular law applies to a business based on its size and activities.

Regardless, if you live in the United States, you may contact us to ask what personal information we hold about you or to request its correction or deletion. We will not treat you differently because you make a privacy request.

We do not sell personal information.

To exercise a privacy right or make a privacy request, contact us at .

We will respond within the period required by applicable law.

10. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect the personal information we process. These include encrypted HTTPS connections and access controls on our systems.

New guide-download links generated by our current delivery system are individually signed and expire after 30 days. The identifier contained in the download link does not expose the subscriber's email address.

These measures protect the delivery link itself. They should not be understood as meaning that a free guide is confidential or protected digital content.

No method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Children

Skin Active Lab's guides, website and emails are not directed to children.

We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under the age of 16. If you believe that a child has provided personal data to us, please contact us at so that we can address the situation.

12. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our services, technology, data practices or legal requirements.

The current version will be published on this page with its latest revision date.

If we make a material change to how we use the personal data of our subscribers, we may also notify affected subscribers by email where appropriate.
